Assassin’s Creed Viral Film

You may have read about this viral film in the last Viral Friday, the first part of a promotional film for Ubisoft’s game Assassin’s Creed 2.

It’s a live-action short movie (14 minutes long) that is packed with beautiful special effects. Released just a week ago, the video now has over 1 million views on YouTube. Although that is very impressive, there is something else worth noticing.

Recently we come across more and more viral videos that are much longer than the 30 to 60 seconds we usually see. This Assassin’s Creed film is a perfect example. In viral marketing terms this shows there is huge potential for the entertainment industry.

Because of the length of the video, this live-action short makes the potential players and audience connect emotionally with the characters on the game, and that will probably make the chances of them buying the game higher.

Just how big the impact of game, or movie, trailers is can be measured with video metrics technology from our weekly Viral Friday sponsor ViralTracker, who provide companies and brands with a way to measure the reach and response of their online videos.
