Tekken 6: What Will You Fight For?

On October 27th, Namco Bandai releases Tekken 6. In the run up to the launch of the popular video game, the company releases a series of online videos around the question ‘What will you fight for?’

The video is the second one in the launch to the latest Tekken game. In Namco Bandai’s YouTube channel, both videos are uploaded. Unlike the video game itself, which is known for its fast and over the top action sequences, the videos are filmed in slow motion and focuses on style rather than action. Remarkably enough, both videos don’t show any footage of the new Tekken game, but solely focus on the phrase ‘ What will you fight for’.

At www.whatwillyoufightfor.com, Namco Bandai created an online platform where Tekken enthusiasts can preorder the game and join the Iron Fist Tournament. The tournament takes place throughout UK and allows the fans the chance to fight each other in the new Tekken 6, before its retail release.

Also, people can join Tekken Talk where you can fight your foes via Twitter. You can register at the site and enter the Twitter competition by tweeting an access code. By tweeting you can move your character and win or loose a fight. I like the idea and I am curious to see how many people will join in and play a game at Twitter without actually seeing their character rather than playing it on a big television screen… Does it add to the game or does it take away the whole experience of gaming?

The campaign was created, produced and seeded by Imperial Leisure.
