Follow Team HTC-Columbia On Google Maps
Team HTC shows why HTC has really earned its tagline “Quietly Brilliant” by partnering with Google Maps.
With HTC you can experience the Tour de France like never before. Track the riders from Team Columbia and see their exact locations and real-time telemetry data on Google Maps.
This is what I just pushed to my Twitter account: I’m tracking heart rate, speed, power, location & more of riders on Team HTC – Columbia with Google.
Watch Live on Google Maps
Check out the live map here. It’s indeed quietly brilliant engineering by the team.
For the tech freaks and brand managers with an appetite for innovation, how does it work? Mark Cavendish and 7 other riders from team HTC – Columbia have a HTC Legend smartphone with Android 2.1 and ANT+ on them.
These mobiles gather real-time info in the field of performance and location via the mobile app My Tracks.
The My Tracks APP can be used by everybody to locate and share outdoor activities, but for the HTC – Columbia runners the application was adjusted.
The data is coming from the SRM sensors on the bikes. This enables you to see performance data of the riders online.
What About You?
How do you like this innovation? Agree that HTC’s brand promise is being delivered as well?
