1. Google Goggles
Google has come out with an implementation of image recognition and augmented reality technology for their own Android platform that uses the camera, compass and GPS as inputs for searching the net. As seen in this demonstration video, this new visual search app “Google Goggles” gives you the ability to search the internet for information on the world around you without having to type a single word.
2. This Year In Auto-Tune 2009
In the beginning of September we wrote about the new I am T-Pain iPhone app, which gave you the ability to sing along to T-Pain tracks utilizing Auto-Tune. Steve Porter’s auto-tune rendition of the wackiest celebrity moments of 2009 makes them even more laughable.
3. Real Time Search
Besides the new search option Google Goggles, Google has shared its new concept for real-time search as well. The real-time search updates as stuff is happening around the Web that instant — for example, live tweets, Yahoo Answers, news articles and Web pages now stream in on the actual result pages for your query. It works on mobile too (at least iPhone and Android for now).
4. Please Help The World
This week the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) was hosted in Copenhagen, Denmark. The impressive opening film shows us a scared, young girl facing the elements in what seems a post apocalyptics world and begging the delegates to ‘help save the world’.
5. Tablet Demo 1.5
Whilst Murdoch is battling Google, Sports Illustrated has found a brilliant way to re-invent itself. They have created an interactive version of their magazine for tablet PC’s. Nearly 350,000 views and 340 ratings with an average of 5 stars indicate the format has struck a chord.
