Viral Friday is the weekly viral video chart of ViralBlog, showing the 5 most popular viral videos, commercials, games or user-generated videos, carefully selected and ranked by popularity, viral impact & spread.

ViralFriday

This week’s Viral Friday #1 position goes to the Goal of The Awana Diab Lebanon Team with a splendid penalty kick. The #2 goes to Rockstar Parking, this guy either has the skill or is a lucky one. Or both. And on the 3rd position is Fail like a Boss as some have the gift of failing in a style.

Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 5? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!

Get our ViralBlog asset: the Viral Friday Widget! By default the widget shows you the latest Viral Friday, but it’ll also show you the seven most recent postings on ViralBlog.

1. Goal Of The Awana Diab Lebanon Team

There have been many weird football penalty shots, but I doubt a player did this in an official match before. The player, Awana Diab from United Arab Emirates became a YouTube celebrity with more than 8 million views since 17th of July. The downside is that U.A.E. manager Srecko Katanec did not appreciate his creativity substituted him immediately after the match for such a “disrespectful act.”

2. Rockstar Parking

A lot of people have problem parking their car. The spot is not available, it’s too small or there are other problems. But this guy has it’s own, let’s say unique, way how to park his beauty. I have seen something similar in GTA4 before, but never thought to see it “live”. The crazy driver video hit 1,2 million views in 4 days, but please do not try to repeat it.

3. Fail Like a Boss – EPIC

Fails are nice to watch as it’s in a human nature to laugh at others’ misery. But this Portuguese guy, he fails with style and awesomeness. No more spoiling, just to pinpoint almost 1,3 million views and karpinremo’s YouTube channel. And somebody please tell NIKE about it in case they don’t know yet.

4. Zeeman Guerrilla Stunt

For those not familiar with a Dutch clothes brand Zeeman, have a look at the Zeeman Wikipedia page first. Zeeman “attacked” a popular Amsterdam International Fashion Week with a new luxury brand “Frank”. The result? Decide for yourselves, however the full story video got 200K+ views within a few days.

5. Summer’s Eve Hail to the V

Summer’s Eve, a brand for women only, came up with “Hail to the V” with almost 160K views since 17th of July. So put taboos and crimson cheeks aside and enjoy. For more check their blog and another splendid video “Cat On A Mission”.

I’m sorry to discover that after your (unannounced and unexplained) absence you haven’t really upped the ante in quality. I looked forward to this blog every week. But not only are you becoming a collection point for fail videos and other waste-of-time virals (even if they are popular, they don’t serve any other purpose that makes them relevant to marketers or communication pro’s, who I think are a large part of your target audience) you have neglected to spend some time on (in my opinion) great campaigns and virals like: the inspiring story of stuff virals. The amazing social Rockcorps campaign (11.000 volounteers get a free concert!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAqTfb4hRRM or the campaign from the American Heart Association to help people discover how to Stay Alive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5hP4DIBCEE

I personally hope to see more stuff like that. Anyone agree?

      Hello Piet, I do agree.
Relevenace should be key at a marketing blog, we are not here to show all UGC videos that are just viral and fun.
Thanks for your feedback, really appreciated.

Our unannounced absence was caused by a very nasty technical problem, and we are still in the recovery room.

      Cheers

      Igor
