Who Else Wants To See The Best CEO Farewell Ever?

Mark Sebba served as chief executive of luxury fashion e-tailer Net-a-Porter for the past 11 years, and he is getting the best CEO farewell ever.

Who Else Wants To See The Best CEO Farewell Ever? Story by pro speaker Igor Beuker for ViralBlog.com

As Sebba entered his London head office, he was welcomed by a gospel preacher, net ball team and his staff lining corridors with placards of his face and his name.

Net-a-Porter CEO Mark Sebba Gets Best Farewell Ever

The gospel choir and the full global staff were singing a parody version of Aloe Blacc’s hit song ‘The Man’. Enjoy the video here:

The beloved chief executive took it all in his stride, even when he saw staff celebrating him via video link from offices in Manhattan, New Jersey, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Like all great leaders, Sebba knew how to reply to such gestures:

‘Thank you very much everybody, I’m a bit overwhelmed, but…how about getting back to work.’

Another CEO farewell that popped up in my mind was CEO Hans Wijers, who left AkzoNobel back in April 2012 in a very different way. See the video here:

Big big difference in both farewells, right?

My Opinion

Have you noticed how huge Net-a-Porter’s staff is? Were you surprised?

Net-a-Porter may be worth as much as 2.5 billion euros ($3.4 billion) based on a comparison with the possible value of German rival Zalando AG, according to Bank Vontobel AG.

It takes an architect to envision and build cathedrals, everything else is just bricks in a wall.

CEO’s have become the crucial outdoor campaign of modern brands.

Just take a look at inspiring leaders like Michael Dell, Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh or Amazon genius Jeff Bezos.

What About You?
How do you rate the Net-a-Porter farewell? I’d love to read your opinion. Or share other great examples in the comments.
