Rebellious TV series Californication will be broadcasted as per March 6 in Italy by Sky Channel. To create buzz around this introduction the Bra Invasion guerrilla campaign was launched in Milan and Rome.
Astonished citizens in Milan and Rome experienced a real invasion of bras in the streets and subways. The guerrilla campaign is accompanied by a series of viral videos and posters.
Again a great concept by the Miami creative hotshop Crispin Porter + Bogusky. In just a few years, the CP+ B team have really revitalized the Burger King brand in a rebellious way. An eye-opener for many agencies and brand managers.
Burger King is known as Home of the Whopper. In this concept a Burger King ‘Whopper Free Zone’ was created. Customers are being told: we are very sorry, Burger King discontinued the Whopper. And you must really, really see the reactions of real customers, taped with hidden cameras!
Customers go crazy with reactions like: “this must be a joke, get serious” and “the Whopper not longer on the menu, I’m freaking out here”. Some customers get really very angry and some tell great stories about Burger King.
So if you have strong products, why not letting customers tell others how much they like these products?! Whopper, anything else is a freaking dissappointment. Check the videos at Whopper Freakout. A must see!
Sir Richard Branson is a great hero of mine. Besides coming across as a decent guy who cares, he is also a brilliant marketeer and highly successful entrepreneur. And we loveblogging about him
When he decided to have a go at the airline business people were always going to take notice and he was always going to change things. If only because the other airlines made him feel like he was on one of his life threatening ballooning trips again. Great service is a Virgin trademark. As is their witty and extraordinary marketing.
I’m sure most people have flown on a plane and are familiar with the in flight instructions. They are a drag for both the customer and flight attendant, no one really pays attention and if push came to shove most people would probably fail to recall any of the instructions in case of an actual emergency. As this was never seen as a big deal and even ignored by a lot of people it stands out when it’s been changed. That’s what makes this video so good, they changed something people didn’t expect to be changed.
It’s a typical case of slapping your forehead and saying to yourself “Why didn’t I think of that?”.
Although I do think the idea is excellent and extremely innovative, I do feel they could have executed it slightly better. What do you think?
Disclaimer: Before being labeled a Virgin fan boy I would like to set the record straight (pun unintended).Virgin and Sir Richard Branson are great, but not flawless. For example, I had an interview for a placement and they didn’t hire me. See, everyone makes mistakes. Even Sir Richard.
X-mas thoughts are overtaking the Internet. So is Green Thing, a not-for-profit online community that lectures each month in an inspiring and entertaining way.
Check out December’s viral guerrilla video to see how Mary and Joseph did the green thing. December’s green thing is all about buying an old thing, not a new thing.
The monthly Green Things are suggested with content from a growing community of writers, musicians, designers, directors and artists - pro and am, young and old.
Why is it that so many innovators and internet entrepreneurial people love Steve Jobs so much? Is it because he is a visionair and CEO of Apple and Pixar? Or is it because he is a charismatic leader, very honest and human person? Is it his passion for great work he loves?
Take a look at Steve’s Stanford Commencement 2005 speech below. Steve is so open and honest, it will probably make you shiver too? Part one is about his adoption, being a college drop-out, his fascination for typography and connecting dots in life.
When Alejo asked for a week off to go on holiday with his friends in January, his boss was not very willing to cooperate. In fact, he told him it would be easier to gather 50.000 signatures than to fulfill his Argentine summer dream. So that’s exactly what Alejo and his friends did. To convince his boss he really needed a break, Alejo started to gather signatures on the net.
Wednesday October 31st, he counted 190. Two days later, the number was around 2.500. Yesterday, November 9th, there are close to 15.000 and about 50 people signing his petition every minute. In this pace, Alejo should achieve his goal in a couple of days. All thanks to his blog, a video on YouTube and a Facebook group: “Firma por alejo y sus vacaciones”. Well, and some help from his friends here at ViralBlog. Happy holidays Alejo!
Che Guevara, the famous socialistic revolutionary hero, disappeared at 9 October 1967. In the search for Che, his picture was spread around. His body was found back in 1997. Forty years after his disappearance Che Guevara became an icon all around the globe.
The rebel became a great viral campaign and a peaceful weapon of mass affection. A brand and cult icon. And he still is today. Millions of Che t-shirts and caps are being sold today.
A film produced by Trisha Ziff on the iconography of Che Guevara, Chevolution, is expected to be released in early 2008. Her exhibition is due to open at Barcelona’s Palacio Virreina museum on 25 October 2007. I will check this exhibition and report about it here!
